Compression in the 70s, no oil consumption, and chrome cylinders.... sounds like there's a lot of life left in that engine.
I started an annual last weekend on my airplane with around 1800 TSMOH. Lowest cylinder is 68/80, idle oil pressure is good (indicating the bottom end isn't worn yet), and it pulls strong. I think I'm still years from thinking about an
engine overhaul. for this one. It may be one of those engines that runs to 2400 before needing major attention.
