Okay, Okay, Okay...

Hung, the only problem with your flight plan, aside from missing Rhode Island, is that Grants Pass is a little down and to the left of your arrow.

I promise to go kinda straight towards Grants Pass. Just in case anyone hasn't noticed, Fuel is hovering around 4.00 per gallon. I'm sure Bill planned on paying for the trip expenses, but if I give him fuel receipts from all 48 states and Cuba, well... Guess I took a wrong turn in New Mexico.

Dan exaggerates about my capable hands just as Hung does about my "extreme maneuvers." I will keep her right side up most of the time (I have to do at least shallow turns to aim it towards Oregon) and will do my level best to give Bill a re-useable airplane. I'm quite sure the trip will heighten my excitement about the one I'm patiently waiting for in Midland.

It seems like it will be a long trip up to Oregon. But I'll get to enjoy that much more. I had thought about flying it to Clinton, IA so it would know the way. That might guarantee Bill and Justina's presence next year.

I'll write a cross country story for the club news letter on the trip. I'll have to have something to do along the way. Perhaps Bill will think of all the fun I'll have and decide to fly it home himself. I'll be sad if that happens.

My last long ferry trip was from San Diego to Decatur, TX in a Piper Seneca I. I did that over two days only because I was restricted by the special flight permit from flying at night. Just as well, I had to return to San Diego with one engine at zero thrust due to the right engine oil temp being pegged on the high side with anything more than 15 inches MP. Didn't need to cage the motor, just had to ease it's load. Turned out the oil cooler was clogged. Left out the next day, overnighted at El Paso, then on the rest of the way non-stop.

BTW, Jeff, I thought a 150/150 would do 200 mph with the big black knob all the way in. Bill's paying the gas bill...

Sorry Bill, just looking forward to the trip.

Later.
