At annual, my pilots seat was found to have a broken outer cam on the bracket where the seat and seatback are joined. A critical part to the integrety of the seat.
My mechanic, had it repaired in house, a 337 was filed, and I was charged for 8 hours of work, $624. Ouch!
I now realize I can buy a used seat for $100-$200. I'm wondering how much a new one might cost? Any links would be great.
Maybe I'll see if my mechanic wants to buy my seat for $600.
As you may know, I have also had pilot seat problems with a 1968 C-150H. I spent a good part of my Labor Day weekend researching my options, and this is what I have determined:
1. There are no "new seats" for our planes available for sale anywhere. Not from Cessna. Not that will fit in our planes, on our seat rails. Not that would comply with our plane's original equipment list.
2. Used seats are available, and it's possible to cannibalize parts. That's what I am doing.
3. The best way to have a seat from an old C-150 refurbished (I have been told refurbished to like-new condition) would be to send them to Shelby Isham of TNwings in Tennessee. (

tnwings.com]). He's an expert, can repair broken parts, and he has excellent reupholstry options.
