It's not a difficult process, Pushing the roll pin out can be interesting. When you do this part, make sure your strut is fully deflated. As well, prior to removing the roll pin, I pulled the lower strut off as well, then I did the roll pin and top strut removal. To pull the lower strut out,, you'll have to find a small hole at the bottom of the strut,, to push the lower spring retainer out of it's slot. I do believe that Charles outlined all of this under the tech section. With the spring retainer off,, and the top/lower links off,, just pull everything down and out,, trying to not get wet from the fluid that will fall out of it...

Once you've got the top roll pin out,, if you don't want to remove the top of the cylinder tube off, just push the valve assembly out,, through the bottom. It's easy to do,, once you've got that part out,, you can then replace the o ring that is on the top piece. Hope you read Charles post under the tech section,, excellent reading.
