I haven't used it in the plane yet, just got it last night.
Playing with it in the living room the learning curve is
not that steep. There arn't as many screens to choose from as the 100 and the 100 seems easier to find waypoints.
(Maybe I just need more practice)
The screen with the big arrow has been replaced with an HSI
screen.
The display is bigger as is the control panel.
The voltage regulator for the 100 was built in to the unit.
It is in the plug for the 500, also the power connector
for the 500 has two pins that stick out when not connected to the unit. I don't always take my GPS with me but alwasy had the cord in the socket, don't know if I will do this now
with those pins exposed.
Give me a couple of weeks with it in the plane and I'll
have a better report.
