When the owner was flying it, he was using Avgas because he said 100LL has about four times too much lead. (I have no clue.)
I think he said/meant "Auto Gas" (the unleaded gas used in automobiles). Avgas is "Aviation Gas", designated as 100LL (100 Octane, Low Lead). Low Lead means it has less lead than the older Aviation Gas, but still more than in Auto Gas.
One was a 320 the owner indicated was illegal for anything other than backup. (again, outside my realm of knowledge)
Older 360-channel radios are no longer legal. Current radios have 720 or more channels. Actually, it has more to do with the frequency tolerance of the radio. The FAA web site has a list of obsolete radios, but I can't find it right now. You can read a bit of info here:
