I've posted this before, sometime ago. But...
When I bought my 150H TD, the "Rabbit Dawg" I didn't have my tailwheel endorsement. A friend of mine recommended a longtime instructor as one of the best TD instructors in the area. I called him and set up an appointment for instruction at the airport where the "Dawg" was located. I arrived at the airport shortly before a 152 Sparrowhawk touched gently down and taxied to the tiedown alongside my plane.
I walked toward the plane to introduce myself to my new instructor. The left door opened and an elderly gentleman held out two canes, asking:
"Can you hold these for me while I get out?"
Mr. W is in his eighties and is one of the best instrucors I have ever had the pleasure to fly with....
and he flies his Sparrowhawk
everywhere!
