I took more risk than usual climbing through to the top of the clouds. But I had full fuel and the sky was clear where I took off. So I could turn back if I need to. I just had to make sure I wouldn't get disoriented. (Can an Oriental guy get disoriented? grin)

I like the Airmap 500 fine. Some of its process, like programming a route, takes a lot of button pushing. But it's reliable and you can't beat the price. I paid $280 new.
